What is BigTent?

BigTent is a free online platform for family-friendly organizations. Our goal is to strengthen group involvement while simplifying group management. By combining the best of today's social networking features with group management tools, BigTent helps real-world communities share, communicate, and organize online and in-person.


 

Founded in 2006, the company currently hosts parents' groups, PTAs, schools, neighborhood groups, hobby clubs, professional and alumni associations, and other community groups nationwide. See examples of the diverse groups using BigTent here: https://www.bigtent.com/featured_groups.


 

If your group uses BigTent to organize and communicate online, you'll be asked to create a BigTent account as the first step in your registration. Your BigTent account allows you to sign in to your group online and communicate privately and safely with fellow group members without the risk of non-members seeing your group's discussions, files, or photos. Having a BigTent account will allow you to communicate with multiple groups in the same place. For example, if you're a member of your neighborhood association and a volunteer in your son's Boy Scout troop, and both of these groups use BigTent, you only need to sign in to one place to see upcoming events, forum discussions, and files for both of these groups.
