Guide: How do I feature photos, news, polls, or a video on the group page?

To feature content front-and-center on your group's page:

  • Go to [group name] > Utilities > Manage > Customization.
  • Click the radio button for the type of content you'd like to feature.
  • Choose the settings for the content you will feature.
  • Click "Save and View Buzz Page."

Featuring News

Select the number of items you would like to show at a time (max of 3). The most recent items will be shown, and if you select to share more than one item, the items will rotate.

Please note that News posts composed in Rich Text will be converted to Plain Text on the Buzz page.

Featuring Photos

Under "Featured Photos Settings," click "Add Photos." You will have to option to either add photos from your group's photos on BigTent or your personal BigTent photos, or you can upload new photos**. Add captions if desired. You can also choose from an existing photo album. Learn more about event photo albums in this FAQ: How can members share event photos?   Then you can re-arrange the photos to appear in the order you like.

** Any photos you add from your computer will be stored in your personal photos area, but will not be visible to others on your profile unless you explicitly check the box to do so.

Featuring Polls

Under "Featured Polls Settings," select the number (max of 3) of polls you would like to feature. The most recent polls will be shown, and if you select to share more than one poll, the polls will rotate.

Featuring a Video

Under the "Featured Video Settings" enter in the embed code for your video. YouTube now uses a new code which is not currently supported by our site.

To overcome this, do the following:

1.  Cut and paste the following into the embed code text window.

<object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie"
value=""></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param
name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315"
allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
2. The code in red are the 11-character video ID: simply replace that part with the video ID of the video you want to embed.

The video ID can be found in the URL, which you can get from your browser's address bar when you're looking at the video on its own page:;=plcp
