How do I make an offer for an item in the Classifieds? Javier Vegas March 07, 2016 17:57 Follow When you make an offer, only the person who created the listing can see your offer. The person who listed the item will then be able to contact you to follow up. Depending on the contact preference you specified when making your offer, you may receive an email or phone call in response. Once you make an offer, you cannot retract it online. However, since no transactions are conducted on BigTent, you can still communicate directly with the member who listed the item about your change of heart. You are not "locked in" based on your online offer. However, to be fair to the posting member and other would-be bidders, you should not make offers you are not serious about. To make an offer on a classified item: Click on the item you'd like. Scroll to the bottom and choose the radio option "Make an Offer." Add an optional comment, indicate the amount, specify your follow up method. If desired, choose to be notified by email when updates are made to the listing. Click "Post." If you are not yet ready to make an offer, you can communicate with the seller by posting a public comment/question on the listing. If you want to send a private message, you can contact the seller via TentMail. To ask a public question or make a public comment: Click on the item you'd like. Scroll to the bottom and choose the radio option "Add a Public Comment." If desired, choose to be notified by email when updates are made to the listing. Click "Post Comment."
